Horns of Justice Pre-Alpha FAQ

What is Horns of Justice?

Horns of Justice is a brutal sports MOBA. It is inspired by the MOBA genre and has added the elements of ball sports to the mix. The brutal part comes from the resources you can employ; weapons, spells and basic melee moves. These help you in taking possession of the ball, scoring goals and defending your own goal. It is the tension between the sports field play element and the violence of the MOBA element that creates the dynamic gameplay which makes Horns of Justice the unique game it is.

Currently, Horns of Justice is developed for Windows PCs, additional platforms may be added in the future.

What is the goal?

In Horns of Justice, you play team matches against other teams. The aim is simply, score more goals than the opponents and win matches to advance on the leaderboards. Every match in the game takes around 10 minutes.

Each team consists of 3 players, with each player being from a different class.
Classes are:

  • Striker (quite offensive and aimed a scoring goals)
  • Defender (defensive, very strong and aimed at preventing counter goals and recapturing the ball)
  • Tactician (assistive, with a range of capabilities to assist both the striker and the defender)

Naturally, each class has their own unique set of at least 4 abilities to help them reach their goals. They range in nature from heavy damage, stalling, muting, slow down, speed up and tons more.

Is it online multiplayer only?

No, we also aim Horns of Justice to offer a single player campaign that you can play through, which will take you through a narrative as well, to get the know the fascinating universe and characters of Horns of Justice.

What is a pre-alpha?

The pre-alpha state the game is in right now means that all the basic functionality is working, but we are not at the stage yet were we feel the content has reached the level we envision. Typically, at this stage, parts of the game may not function the way we want, so an extra pair of eyes to inform us about this is very welcome (see: Something is not working right, what can I do?). Also, the amount of content (levels, characters, gameplay etc.) is still limited.

Why do you release a pre-alpha?

We are very curious to hear what you think about the game. And since we are enjoying our internal test sessions, we decided to release the pre-alpha to hear what you think about the game and what we can improve on. Letting our baby out in the open world.
Since this release is a pre-alpha it also means that any part of the game can be unstable.

Will the pre-alpha be updated?

Yes. Around once a month we will deliver a new update, you can expect an update that fixes bugs, has new features, extra content and tweaks. We plan to do this up to the beta release.
